Do Jehovah's Witnesses Really Have a Higher Rate of Suicide or Mental Illness as Opposers Claim?

People don’t commit suicide because of their religion. They commit suicide because of their mental,
emotional, or physical sickness.

Biased individuals like to claim that Jehovah's Witnesses have a higher rate of suicide or mental illness to prejudice gullible and ignorant people regarding Jehovah's Witnesses.

Actually, the claim that Jehovah's Witnesses have a higher rate of suicide or mental illness has been proven incorrect and even thrown out of court. There is not even a single study which offers any credible, verifiable facts that there is a "high" rate of mental illness among Jehovah's Witnesses. Some of these so-called scientific studies came straight from Hitler's propaganda machine against Witnesses and Jews. It is reprehensible to pass on such misinformation and fabrications.

Atheists use similarly warped studies against religious people.

"Faith cannot move mountains (though generations of children are solemnly told the contrary and believe it). But it is capable of driving people to such dangerous folly that faith seems to me to qualify as a kind of mental illness." --Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene, p. 198.

This quote is interesting:

"The manner in which a man utilizes his religion--whether it be to enrich and ennoble his life or to excuse his selfishness and cruelty, or to rationalize his delusions and hallucinations or to clothe himself in a comforting illusion of omnipotence--is a commentary on the state of his mental health."--The Human Mind, Alfred A. Knopf, p. 467.

The historical fact is that every religion except Jehovah's Witnesses have used their religion to justify past and present wars where they have even killed their own members.

So if we are to judge religions' mental state by its willingness to resort to "selfishness and cruelty" then Jehovah's Witnesses are the most sane of all people–religious and non-religious!!

What Do You Know About Jehovah’s Witnesses? (JW.ORG)
“I read a lot about Jehovah’s Witnesses on the Internet, I heard some rumors, and I listened to a great deal of prejudiced talk,” wrote a trainee reporter in Denmark. “As a result, I formed a very negative view of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Maybe people don’t know them well enough, or maybe we are all simply too quick to judge. I know I was. And I found out I was wrong.”—Cecilie Feyling
