The Bible shows that God "did not create (earth) simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited." (Isa. 45:18) God described his purpose to have the earth filled with the offspring of Adam and Eve as caretakers of a global paradise:"`Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.'"
For the earth to become completely destroyed by the nations would run contrary to His purpose. The Bible assures us that God will "bring to ruin those ruining the earth." (Rev. 11:17, 18)
God will not allow the earth to become completely and permanently ruined because Ps. 37:29 says that "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."
